Poplin is a tightly woven plain weave fabric made of cotton, silk, wool
or synthetic blends. It is smooth, thin and lustrous fabric. The poplin

heavyweight and durable. The heavier poplin is given a water-repellent
finish for good outdoor use. The fabric is excellent for making large
banners for tradeshows, museums or music concerts.Poplin fabric is considered to be an all-purpose fabric with its rich texture and a non-reflective finish. The flat finish of poplin has made it the best fabric when a very flat and tight look is desired. It is also an excellent fabric for draping. It is best used for table drape displays in stores or tradeshows.
The word 'Poplin', has been derived from the Italian name papalino because cloth made of poplin was first manufactured in the papal town of Avignon in 14th century.
