Fabric production, we see China to be sitting on the top
in maximum of them. It leads in cotton production, leather extracted from
sheepskin, cashmere wool, hemp and ramie. Not turning to oblivion about
silk, which was discovered here during 2640 B.C., it still commands the
market in production comparison followed by Thailand, USA, France and Italy.
Jute production might be confused between India and Bangladesh. Many
believe Bangladesh rules, but it is only in terms of cultivation. India
heads in production, which is followed by Bangladesh, China, Thailand,
Myanmar and so on. Apart from jute, India also leads in the production of
goatskin followed by China and Pakistan.
Though "Cashmere wool" is known to be extracted from "Kashmir
goat" or "the Himalayan goat," but India ranks behind China,
Mongolia, Turkey, Afganistan, Irag and Iran. In sheepwool, Australia is the
leading and sheepskin leather, the sequence is China, New Zealand, Australia
and Iran. USA leads in bovine leather followed by Europe, Brazil and USSR.
Linen, the known fabric among Egyptians are headed by Ireland. Hemp, by
China and Italy and Ramie by China and Brazil.
