Beaver Cloth Beaver cloth is a thick and heavy silk or cotton fabric with a smooth nap. It is a high quality and very soft cloth. Beaver cloth gives an excellent wear and is very warm. It is very luxurious and shiny. It is mostly used as warm coats.

Beaver cloth is of twill weave. Of all the napped fabrics, it has the longest nap. The length of the nap varies from cloth to cloth and its uses. The nap is on both the sides - double faced. Usually light colored fibers are added to the nap to increase the shine of the cloth. The cloth is made to stimulate beaver fur. It is originally from English but mostly found in Europe and America.

Characteristics of Beaver Cloth Uses of Beaver Cloth

Beaver cloth made of wool is primarily used as warm coats. Cotton beaver is used as hats, shoe linings, work cloths, maritime cloths and sports cloths.
